About Us

Kolej Unistate is an IPTS registered with Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia, and the licensed holder of the Preston University Distance Learning degree programs, providing the HRDF validations under SBL-Khas scheme.

Our current offerings include a range of Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas, Graduate Diplomas, Bachelor’s degree, Masters Degree and Doctorate programs as well as the Doctor of Philosophy program.

We have affiliate centres all over Malaysia, and work closely with several institutions in China, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Singapore and Indonesia in the offering of the Preston University Master of Business Administration.

All our programs are assignment-based, and our facilitators are senior working practitioners who are leading experts in their field.  They will share with students in class the latest market trends and experiences so that students can apply them into their workplace immediately.  Many of our students have gained career promotions after attending these classes. Most of our classes are held over a weekend seminar, once a month for one module. Students will be given a textbook and handouts as well as case studies to discuss and present in class.  A written assignment will be given, discussed in class, and the students have a month to complete it.  Students who are away and unable to attend a particular class can opt for self-study and just submit assignments, or they can skip the module and attend the next class when the module is run again, as we run our modules on a rolling basis.

Sam Leong
Mr Sam Leong has many years of professional experience in various business activities and areas and is also a well-known community service volunteer who has served in various capacities in large international companies at Senior Management level, including Olivetti and NCR.

Dr Harwindar Singh
Dr Harwindar is the Principal Consultant and Trainer with HARVEY GILL & ASSOCIATES, and a Visiting Lecturer on CFM and CFA courses. An experienced Financial Management Trainer, he has lectured and trained in various financial institutions. He specializes in Financial Management, Cost Management, Credit Management, Performance Enhancements and Financial Strategies. His clients include the major banks in Malaysia, as well as the Malaysian Stock Exchange and Bank Negara Malaysia.

Dr Jim Tor
Dr Jim is a Human Resource Consultant specializing in Organizational Development & Change Management for Manufacturing Sectors and Service Organizations. He is also experienced in marketing, management, financial services and strategic planning. During his tenure with several companies, Jim solved corporate issues and brought profitable and valuable findings to these organizations.

During his 27 years of corporate working experience, Jim was a developer and trainer of customized customer relations and interpersonal skills programs. He developed several Sales Productivity Training Programs for the companies he served. He has orchestrated sales and built several sales organizations from obscurity.

Dr John Rushford
A senior practitioner of project and business management, Dr John Rushford is an experienced Project Manager and Director of major international infrastructure projects. Dr Rushford has specialized in business management, project management and consulting services with multinational corporations as well as with small to medium enterprises. He has held positions as Managing Director, CEO, International Operations Manager, General Manager, International Program Director, Project Director, Vice President Project Management and Business Management. Reporting to the World Bank in Washington, USA, John was the Project Director based in Pakistan responsible for the Telstra Australia 2 year $50mil World Bank-funded telecommunications infrastructure project.

Mr Kui Juan Tiang
Mr Kui Juan Tiang, aged 42, commenced his career in brand/product management with a multinational FMCG company before he moved on to marketing research and consultancy for 8 years. Subsequently, he was engaged by various local and multinational companies for business development, general management and strategic planning.

Presently, he is a business development, management and training consultant. He also has 19 years experience of lecturing on undergraduate and postgraduate business studies programmes.

Mr Rudy Chiu
Mr Chiu has held several senior management positions in large companies, including public-listed companies. He has been in Marketing management positions as well as General Management positions in the Food & Beverage Industry as well as the Gaming industry, and as Chief Operating Officer of a Public Transportation company.

In his management capacities, he has taken the companies to greater heights by re-engineering their market potentials, KPIs, supply chain structures and organizational restructuring to bring the companies better profits.

Professor Dr Chin
Prof. Dr Chin Yew Sin is the Principal of Mac Academy, the President of Oriental Strategy Research Centre and the Principal Consultant of Perunding ISBA. He is the Advisor of American Biographical Institute’s Distinguished Research Board of Advisors. He is also a Member of Films Appeal Board, Films Control Department, Ministry of Home Affairs, Malaysia and a Judge of Malaysia Press Institute. Furthermore, he is a Visiting Professor of Zhongshan University, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China and Zhongnan University of Finance, Economics, Politics and Law, Wuhan, Hubei Province, China as well as International Business University of Beijing, Beijing, China

The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Abdullah bin Ahmad Badawi presented a National Achievement Award to him for having the most tertiary qualifications (total 80) on June 6th, 2006.

Dr Edward Tee
Dr Edward has an excellent track record in the field of Business Strategy and Change Management. He has been involved in many international businesses and has also successfully managed many international organizations.

He is a member of Research Institute of Investment Analysts, Malaysia, Association of International Accountants, UK, and National Institute of Accountants, Australia. He is also involved in several social and trade organizations, holding various positions in their respective management committees.

He has been associated with TEC (The Executive Chair) since April 2006 as an accredited TEC Chair after undergoing the Chair Training Course.

Dr Eugene Lim
Dr Eugene has vast experience in senior management positions, having been in various industries, namely, the Hotel, Management Development and Education industries.

He has trained managers in different industries and is an illustrious leader and trainer.
